I remember the golden years of the Batsford "winning with ..." series, indeed a few of them adorn my shelves, including the little thumbed "Winning with the Hypermodern" by Raymond Keene and Eric Schiller (bet you don't play that opening). Looking at the back of that one I see there was a "Winning with the Petroff" by Karpov (perhaps somebody had a sense humour at Batsfords in those days). I wonder if anyone ever asked for their money back "I bought this book from this very emporium and discovered to my surprise that I still don't win my games with the Petroff etc"<BR/><BR/>Mike GAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37675897.post-84485970422707001892007-12-15T18:46:00.000+00:002007-12-15T18:46:00.000+00:00Geoff, I think Everyman have produced some good bo...Geoff, I think Everyman have produced some good books for us average club players. Maybe they wont become classics but they are useful guides as in the Starting Out series. Are you a touch envious of your fellow GMs making Megabucks?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
