Don't do this at home kids :-)<BR/><BR/>I don't actually have a video of the episode, but they show a part of the game, where there is an exchange in the centre exposing a diagonal followed by a flank exchange resulting in mate within a few moves. It's probably take from a real match now in chessbase.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37675897.post-77735366905387784522007-06-22T14:52:00.000+01:002007-06-22T14:52:00.000+01:00Doesn't Columbo mate the World Champion at the end...Doesn't Columbo mate the World Champion at the end of it with 1.f3 e5 2.g4 Qh4#?Tom Chivershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09850710685193416732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37675897.post-90890117151777414802007-06-22T14:48:00.000+01:002007-06-22T14:48:00.000+01:00I remember this Blake's 7 episode and throughly en...I remember this Blake's 7 episode and throughly enjoyed your blog entry on it. I didn't bother analysing it at the time, but this is the sort of thing that is great for trivia quizzes. You know, like "what's the game in James Bond movie?"<BR/><BR/>Slightly more difficult however, is "What's the game in that Columbo episode?". It's hard, because you never get to see the whole of the board. Now there's a challenge for you!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37675897.post-81566594453021683332007-06-22T14:45:00.000+01:002007-06-22T14:45:00.000+01:00Is there a wikipedia page about it, I wonder...Is there a wikipedia page about it, I wonder...Tom Chivershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09850710685193416732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37675897.post-81857199450136643812007-06-22T13:40:00.000+01:002007-06-22T13:40:00.000+01:00Could it be that the cross fertilisation of Blake'...Could it be that the cross fertilisation of Blake's 7 and Chess is just too much of a speciality interest???Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37675897.post-11003709461386342982007-06-21T09:42:00.000+01:002007-06-21T09:42:00.000+01:00It's all... a little bit before my time!
