Chess on the Telly II

Frasier gets an antique chess set ...

... plays chess with his dad ...

... then conducts a post mortem in the coffee shop. Watch out for the unlikely reference to the Panov-Botvinnik attack.

I can never work out if I like Frasier or not. I think I like the premise and the gestures and intellectuality, but then, Daphne makes me wince and the boys father has no comic timing.

I like the Frasier character - and also the fact that the show is one of the few examples of a spin-off from a pre-existing comedy hit actually ending in success rather than abject humiliation for all concerned.

Does anyone know what the make of that chess game of Frasier was? BTW-I love the Frasier show still and all the characters and I'm a little surprised about the comment of the boys father...I'm thinking he/she means "Martin"..I love him too!!!!Too funny and sarcastic!!
