World Championship puzzler!

Here's a nice easy one for a Friday.

What did not happen - on the board - in the 2006 Kramnik-Topalov match that happened in every previous world championship match?

  2. Did Topalov and Kramnik shake hands at all? They probably did in the beginning of the match before all the guerilla tactics began. I don'think they will shake again. The Capablanca-Alekhine match almost made your question untrue had the first game of that match not been a French Defense.

  3. Yes, it would have been the same if it had not been different.

  4. Probably rash prediction for round 2:-

Kramnik to beat Moro ... all other games ending in a draw.

  5. Well, Svidler has allowed Leko's Marshall... And Aronian-Anand looks wild - is it book?

  6. I think 17...c5 is a novelty (i.e. it's the first new move on Chessbase Database Online!)
