Shirov - van Wely is currently (oh hoh hoh) very stormy!
I think Wijk aan Zee translates as something like 'place by sea' so they are probably getting hammered by these atrocious storms worse than we are. Parts of the streets outside my office are now closed off due to damage, even!

It transpires that the pavilion is actually a tent, which information perhaps makes the impact of the weather rather easier to understand.
Does anybody else remember the USSR v Rest of The World match in Docklands in 1984, where commentary took place in a tent?
I believe the inhabitants of Zaragoza are known here as los jorobados ("the hunchbacks") because the wind is so strong there. I forget what Zaragoza people call people from Huesca, though it's got something to do with being stupid.
